- What size geyser do I need for my bathroom?Use an instant water heater (1–3 litres) for a kitchen tap, a 6–10 litre storage heater for a bathroom used by one or two people, 15 litres for a family of three or four, and 25 litres or more for larger families, rain showers or bathtubs. In cold regions like Uttarakhand, choose the next size up because the incoming water is colder.Read the guide →
- What is the difference between an MCB and an RCCB?An MCB (miniature circuit breaker) protects wiring from overload and short circuit. An RCCB (residual current circuit breaker) protects people from electric shock and reduces fire risk by tripping when current leaks to earth — typically at 30 mA — but it does not protect against overload or short circuit. An RCBO does both in one device. Most homes need an RCCB plus an MCB on every circuit.Read the guide →
- Which size wire should I use for lights, sockets, AC and geyser? In Indian homes, 1.5 sq mm copper wire is typically used for lights and fans, 2.5 sq mm for general sockets, 4 sq mm for heavy loads such as air conditioners and water heaters, and 6–10 sq mm for the main supply depending on the total connected load. Use multi-strand copper with FR or FR-LSH insulation, and size every circuit with its MCB following IS 732.Read the guide →
